|Mine Life||4 years|
Centerra Gold holds a 1% net smelter return on the Stawell mine, operated by Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd., commencing January 1, 2016.
Stawell is a historic goldfield that produced 2.7 million ounces of gold between 1853 and 1926 from both alluvial and hard rock sources. It achieved annual gold production of 36 koz in 2015.
The Big Hill project area is located adjacent to the Stawell Gold Mine's operation in the township of Stawell. The Big Hill Enhanced Development Project will consist of two open pits -- the North Pit and the South Pit. The North Pit will be mined first and back filling and rehabilitation will follow. This project design will fully reinstate all pit voids to their original landform once mining is completed.
